New Restaurant Planned At Hampton Beach

The Hampton Planning Board has approved site plans for a new restaurant next to McGuirk's on Hampton Beach.

HAMPTON, NH — A new restaurant is being planned at Hampton Beach. During a meeting last week, the owner of McGuirk's Ocean View Restaurant went before the Planning Board with plans to locate a new restaurant next to his existing one, located on Ocean Boulevard next to J Street. The Planning Board approved site plans for the restaurant on Wednesday.

The new four-story restaurant and pub would be attached to McGuirk's via a breezeway. Plans also include outdoor seating during the summer season, and an apartment on a top floor. Construction is planned to start after September's Seafood Festival. The new restaurant will be seasonal and cater to an older crowd than McGuirk's, according to planning documents.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment had already approved a handicap-access lift for the rear of the new building, and buildings have already been removed for construction of the project, planning documents indicate. The Planning Board has approved a landscaping waiver during Wednesday's meeting before approving the site plans for the project.
