“The pandemic exacerbated existing workforce challenges, like housing and child care, and underscored how vital they are to the overall economic development of our communities. That’s why securing federal dollars to support small business owners and employees impacted by these issues were top priorities for me, and that’s why I’ve kept up pressure on the State of New Hampshire to get overdue dollars out to those who need assistance. Every dollar counts, especially during these stressful economic times for Granite Staters,” said Shaheen. “As a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I was proud to secure more than $111 million for 105 projects in communities throughout New Hampshire to invest in local issues that respond directly to our needs. Soon, we’ll see these dollars in action and feel the impact here at home. I’ll keep up that work in the 118th Congress, and I’ll defend our families from any proposal that risks the U.S. defaulting on its debts and puts tax breaks for the super-wealthy ahead of middle-class families. I will always fight to ensure New Hampshire’s working families come first.”
