Two Deer Rescued from Hampton Beach Surf
NH Fish & Game gives credit to paddleboarders from Massachusetts for helping to round up the white-tailed deer.
Two white-tailed deer were rescued from Hampton Beach on Friday, when Fish & Game officers teamed up with two paddleboarders to corral them.
New Hampshire Fish & Game said Eric Tidman and Mathew Roy, both of Massachusetts, were instrumental in helping state officials and Hampton police officers in capturing the deer.
The two used their paddleboards to round up and temporarily restrain the deer until Conservation Officer Kevin Bronson and Wildlife Biologist Patrick Tate were able to further restrain and transport the deer out of the ocean.
Both deer were transported and released unharmed to a wooded location.Tate said both animals were tired but in good health and expected to recover.
