Here are the top stories today in Manchester:

  1. Alert! A recall has been issued for Earth Grown Frozen Falafel sold at Aldi stores in New Hampshire. The frozen falafel has been recalled due to an E. coli outbreak. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, are investigating a multistate E. coli outbreak linked to Earth Grown frozen falafel that was sold at Aldi stores. Cuisine Innovations, the manufacturer of Earth Grown frozen falafel, voluntarily recalled its frozen falafel packages on Oct. 6. "Recalled products include Earth Grown vegan traditional falafel and garlic and herb falafel distributed and sold exclusively by Aldi." (Subscription/The Union Leader)
  2. People from around the world came to New Hampshire to see the foliage, that was on full display this weekend. Peak foliage in northern New Hampshire this weekend brought "a mix of hikers and leaf peepers" in large numbers, and brought heavy traffic, officials said. Trailhead Steward Alex Nedzel commented that he has "never seen crowds like this year." Nedzel said the parking lot" holds 120 cars" and every space was taken by 7:45 Saturday morning. Israel couple, Shahar and Gital Gottlieb came to New England for their honeymoon to see the colors change. Gital said, "the leaves are everything and more than she thought they would be." (WMUR)
