Here are the top stories today in Manchester:

  1. What if you could buy an island on New Hampshire's most beautiful lake? Hermit Island on Lake Winnipesaukee is for sale. It's the first time the 2.3-acre island, with 1,300 feet of waterfront and four boat slips, is for sale in 40 years. Hermit Island is being sold together with its mainland waterfront .25-acre lot with a garage. If you're looking for private island living with the convenience of a mainland home this may be the right place for you! Find out more here: (Patch)
  2. Fireworks are on hold at Hampton Beach to help save endangered "piping plovers." The small sea birds only nest on sandy beaches, like Hampton Beach and Seabrook Beach. Wildlife biologists and conservationists said it's important for the public to "give these birds plenty of space." Nesting areas on Hampton Beach have been roped off to protect the nesting birds. When COVID-19 hit, and beaches were empty, endangered sea birds started to nest in their natural habitat. Officials told News 9 that 16 piping plovers are nesting, so beachgoers need to keep their distance. (WMUR)
  3. Manchester Police are asking for your help to identifying two suspects who smashed a window at the McIntyre Ski Area Ski Shop. Vandals smashed the window and entered the Ski shop on Sunday around 1 p.m. If you think you know these suspects, or have any information, call the Manchester Police Department tip line at 603-624-4040. You can also leave an anonymous tip online: https://www.manchestercrimeline.org. Find pictures of the alleged vandals here: (Manchester Information)
