Here are the top 3 stories in Manchester today:

  1. Summer is a perfect time for ice cream, and Manchester has a lot of places to enjoy a scoop or two of your favorite flavors! Ben and Jerry's, The Granite State Candy Shop on Elm Street, and Blakes Ice Cream & Restaurant on Milford Street received top reviews, according to Google reviewers. Other top Manchester ice cream spots according to Yelp and Trip Advisor are Cremeland on Valley Street, Dairy Queen on Second Street, Cold Stone Creamery on March Avenue, The Goldenrod on Candia Road, and The Puritan Backroom on Hooksett Road! (Google)
  2. Blake’s restaurant in North Manchester closed in January 2021, but the original Blake's Ice Cream Restaurant on the West Side remains open and is serving Blake's favorite menu items. A new restaurant is taking over the Blake's North Manchester location, and renovations are already underway. Restaurant owner Alexandra Horton will open her second Cafe la Reine, called Cafe la Rein - North, in the former Blakes location. She said she "dreams of what the new cafe will look like" as wallpaper is being removed and new items are coming in. Horton, with general manager Dominique Gibson, has been planning the new restaurant for months. (Subscription/The Union Leader)
  3. It looks like a beautiful weekend! Friday was a humid day, but you can expect a mostly sunny and less humid day on Saturday, with a high of 80. Sunday will also be sunny, with a high of 83. Both Saturday and Sunday night will be cool and comfortable, with temperatures in the 50s, according to Rick Gordon's Weather corner on Manchester Ink Link. There are no thunderstorms expected, and ocean water temperatures will be around 64 degrees. High tide is at 6:30 a.m. and low tide will be at 12:55 p.m. (Manchester Ink Link)
