Cardinal Lacroix Academy students receive art awards

16 students from Cardinal Lacroix Academy were recently recognized for their outstanding artistic contributions to the 2023 U.S. Youth Aviation Art Contest sponsored by the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO). The awards were presented at a ceremony held at the school and presided over by Danielle R. P. Hutchinson, Aeronautics Program Supervisor, and Karla J. Lutz, Aeronautics Program Assistant II. The winning students from Ashley Johnson’s 4th grade art class emerged from a field of talented artists from across New Hampshire. “The school takes great pride in its commitment to nurturing the creative abilities of its students while promoting a holistic approach to learning”, said school principal, Beverly Broomhall.

The NASAO Aviation Art Contest is an annual event sponsored by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, Bureau of Aeronautics, aimed at encouraging young people to explore different aspects of aviation. This year's contest theme, "Air Sports and the Environment," was an invitation to students to showcase how aviation can serve as a catalyst for environmental protection. The state-run contest is part of a larger international effort to inspire youth to illustrate the importance of aviation through art.
