Minimum Security Calumet House Transitional Housing Unit Inmate Placed on Escape Status (patch.com) — An inmate assigned to the Calumet House transitional housing unit in Manchester has been placed on escape status after failing to return Friday, and state corrections officials are asking the public to report any sightings. Authorities released a detailed physical description and phone number for tips, noting his criminal history and prior escape conviction while emphasizing that anyone who sees him should contact police immediately. 
2. Meet Manchester's 'Creepy Santa' (wcvb.com) — Manchester’s towering “Creepy Santa” on Elm Street is back watching over a local Christmas tree lot, delighting and spooking residents in equal measure. The 12-foot-tall vintage figure has become a beloved city landmark and family tradition for its longtime owners, who now sell themed merchandise and donate proceeds to charity while welcoming visitors for photos.
3. Overdoses hit new monthly low in Manchester, Nashua in November (unionleader.com) — Manchester is on track to finish 2025 with its lowest number of opioid overdoses in a decade, with just 24 suspected cases and two deaths reported in November. Local medics say overdoses are steadily declining, though they caution the trend could reverse, and note many incidents still involve homeless residents and bystander-administered Narcan. MeVa Plans New Bus Routes with Faster Methuen Service, Access to Salem NH Medical (whav.net) — New cross-border bus routes launching this spring will link Methuen riders more directly to shopping and medical care in Salem, N.H., where they can connect with Manchester Transit Authority service. For Manchester residents, the partnership strengthens regional links to Lawrence’s commuter rail, Concord, Nashua, and Salem, potentially improving commutes and access to jobs and healthcare across the Merrimack Valley.

- I was out for a walk in my neighborhood and was happily surprised to see a really nice front yard display on Becker Street on the West Side.
Come up Varney Street— Becker runs off of Varney. OR Mast Road, onto Wilkins St.. Becker is first left. #holidays (Nextdoor Mast Road) - If anybody here on the westside is interesting in getting an interior/and or exterior detail.
