- Manchester police detectives are looking for the person or people responsible for leaving antisemitic flyers in yards in some parts of the Queen City over the weekend. The flyers contained messages that said Jewish people were responsible COVID-19, and some had pro-Trump slogans, authorities said. Residents were upset by the flyers in a city that welcomes diversity. Manchester Police Chief Allen Aldenberg confirmed that his department is investigating and takes the matter “very seriously.” (Subscription/The Union Leader)
- Mayor Joyce Craig will travel to the White House on Wednesday to meet with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh, and other federal, state and local leaders. The mayor will discuss the American Rescue Plan funding received by the Manchester Health Department's Public Health and Safety Team. With the new federal funds, improvements to make life better in Manchester are on the way! (Manchester Ink Link)
- Are you looking for something fun to do this summer that's off the beaten path? Here are a few ideas! You may want to visit the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire, located at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport off Navigator Road, next to Runway 17-35. It's also a great spot to watch planes take off and land. If you like mountain biking, New Hampshire has mountain bike trails in Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, and other spots throughout New Hampshire. Dorrs Pond at Livingston Park in Manchester has a nice walking trail, and Massabesic Lake in Manchester has picnic areas, walking trails, and a small, picturesque harbor. - With temperatures expected to reach 90 for the second day in Manchester, meteorologists say we may see a scattered thunderstorms in the late afternoon or early evening. The day will become increasingly humid, according to WMUR's Mike Haddad, with a possibility of scattered thunderstorms passing through parts of the state sometime after 2 p.m. and into the early evening. The pop-up storms could bring downpours, hail and damaging winds to some areas. Keep an eye on the weather! (WMUR)
