Here are the top stories today in Manchester:

  1. The best summer weather is here! The beginning of the week will start with partly sunny skies, pleasant temperatures and a cool sea breeze. Tuesday and Wednesday may have a few passing showers, according to WMUR meteorologist Kevin Skarupa. Later in the week, the humidity will return, and temperatures are expected to be in the 80s Friday and Saturday. (WMUR)
  2. Students will remember Science Camp on Appledore Island at the Isles of Shoals Marine Lab. Students unplugged from social media and experienced a classroom "immersed in the natural world." Daily assignments included examining a starfish "in the palm of your hand," and understanding how organisms thrive in intertidal pools. Shoals Marine Laboratory, just off of the Portsmouth coast, provides hands-on learning experiences for college and high school students interested in marine biology and careers "that support the intricate oceanic ecosystem and related research fields." (Manchester Ink Link)
  3. The Palace Theatre Children's Summer Series will present "Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs" from Aug. 16 - 19. Tickets are only $10, and the shows are performed by professional actors. Bring the family for a fun time and memorable performance. What's next in the Children's Summer Series, from Aug. 23-26? Disney's "Frozen," of course. (The Palace Theatre)
