  2. The Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) is flying high! Director Ted Kitchens told the Manchester Board of Mayor and Aldermen Tuesday night that the airport has seen a rebound in passengers to "pre-pandemic levels." Kitchen's said the airport's rebound included new nonstop Spirit airline flights to Florida and Myrtle Beach, expanded nonstop service by American Airlines to Chicago, a taxiway renovation, and runway improvements along Perimeter Road. 3. Manchester has a plan to tackle the problem of limited landfill capacity. The city plans to launch a new textile recycling program that will keep "tons of clothing and other wearable/fabric items" out of the waste stream, and bring in extra come. Manchester has an agreement with Helpsy, a for-profit recycling company, assisted by WasteZero, to move 129 tons of clothes, fabric, and other textiles to the Helpsy warehouse in Massachusetts, said Chaz Newton, the city’s Solid Waste and Environmental Programs manager. New Hampshire is running out of capacity as the expiration date draws near for the state’s largest landfill, Turnkey Landfill in Rochester, Newton said. (Manchester Ink Link)
