Here are the top stories today in Manchester:

  1. If you're going to the beach this summer, you may want to have the Sharktivity App on your cell phone. Scientists developed the new app "with input from the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries, the Cape Cod National Seashore, and officials from Cape Cod and South Shore towns" to raise awareness of white shark activity on the Atlantic coast. White shark sightings are tracked by researchers, safety officials, and users who can upload photos for confirmation. The app is to help prevent encounters with white sharks and promote safety for sharks, and people. You can find out more here: (AWSC)
  2. MHT is celebrating more reasons to fly the friendly skies from the Manchester-Boston regional airport! Manchester celebrated 603 Day last Friday, and the airport celebrated new flights and expanded routes with a "water salute" for an American Airlines airplane with a new nonstop flight from MHT to Chicago-O’Hare (ORD). American also added nonstop flights to Charlotte with larger Airbus 319 planes, "adding 100 more seats," and United Airlines added a flight to Newark (EWR), "with an additional 50 seats," airport officials announced. 3. New Hampshire Gives is back! Check out New Hampshire's largest online fundraising event helping Granite State nonprofits raise essential funds on June 7-8. This is a unique opportunity to donate to "hundreds of nonprofit organizations doing great work in New Hampshire communities." Last year, more than 14,000 donors gave $3.8 million to 584 nonprofits in just 24 hours, organizers said. This year, almost 600 nonprofits will participate. There are also fun incentives to donate, like matching funds and a leader board! You can find out more here: (Manchester Ink Link)
