  1. Fourteen cats were left to fend for themselves inside an abandoned home in Manchester, where some were found sick, starving, and emaciated. Once authorities arrived on the scene, they found ten cats who were malnourished and missing fur, as well as four cats who tragically didn't make it. According to various news reports, the abandoned home consisted of torn-apart furniture and a strong smell of ammonia pervading the space. (Lady Free Thinker)
  2. Two men have been charged with organized retail crime following multiple shoplifting incidents around the corner in Salem. The suspects were identified as Michael James Watson and Brian K. Caswell of Manchester. Salem police subsequently arrested both men and found large amounts of stolen merchandise in their vehicle. (Newport Dispatch)
  3. On Saturday, Mar. 18, the 15th annual Battle of the Badges Hockey Championship will be held at the SNHU Arena in Manchester. This event will be another big fundraiser for the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and both teams promise to deliver a spirited game.   • Interested in playing tennis this spring? Tennis in the Parks is back at the Memorial High School Tennis Courts starting on Saturday, Apr. 29, through Saturday, May 20.
