- Join the celebration at Arms Park next week to celebrate the future of technology in Manchester. The Build Back Better free community event is to celebrate a $44 million federal grant to create "a biofabrication workforce" in Manchester. The winning application by the Manchester NextGen Resiliency Council was selected from more than 500 applicants and 60 finalists. The free riverside event at Arms Park on Commercial Street will be on Oct. 21 from 12–2 p.m. (Manchester Ink Link)
- If you're looking for an apartment on Elm Street, there will be 110 more places to live. More apartments have been approved on north Elm Street to help ease the housing shortage. On Thursday night, the Manchester Zoning Board of Adjustment approved a variance for Brady Sullivan Properties to add 110 apartments to the building on 1230 Elm Street. The building currently has office space and provides education space for The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The new housing project is part of the city’s recently updated master plan. (Manchester Ink Link)
- A shout out to The Red Arrow Diner for its 100th year anniversary! Since 1922, The Red Arrow Diner has served everyone from local residents to out-of-town stars and politicians that stop by for a cup of coffee.On Saturday afternoon, the Red Arrow had a block party to celebrate. Carol Lawrence, president of Red Arrow Diner said, "The diner in any community is the focal point of any community. You can come in and be sitting next to whoever, you know, it could be a doctor or a city worker, or even a homeless person." (Manchester Ink Link)
