Here are the top three stories in Manchester today:
- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will be the main speaker at the upcoming fundraising dinner for New Hampshire GOP's "Amos Tuck" on Apr. 14, which will be held in Manchester. DeSantis' recent travel schedule includes other early presidential primary states, such as Iowa and Nevada. New Hampshire GOP Chair Chris Ager told CBS News that "we are looking forward to hearing the Governor's message." (CBS News)
- Traditional shamrocks have been painted all along Elm Street in preparation for the upcoming annual Saint Patrick's Day parade. The organizers expressed excitement in presenting a full line-up of performers and bands for the parade, which will be dedicated to the Ukrainian community of Manchester. The family-friendly event, scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 26 at noon, is open to all. (WMUR)
- On Saturday, around 30 individuals gathered at Veterans Park in Manchester to observe International Women's Day. The event included speeches delivered by organizers and attendees that focused on topics like trans rights, incarcerated women, and worker's rights. Organizer Joy Robertson remarked on the importance of highlighting organizations working for the people in New Hampshire, as well as "uniting the struggle of women and gender-oppressed people so they can start to see that all our struggles are one."
