  1. Rodney Martinez of Manchester is claiming superiors at Market Basket #67 – where he worked at ages 55 through 62 – discriminated against him because of his age. In an age discrimination case that has worked its way up to federal court this month, Martinez claims supervisors scheduled him full-time hours – though he was a part-time employee – without full-time benefits. In addition, Martinez claims younger employees in their 20s got promoted to real full-time status and when he asked to be promoted a manager said, "What are you, about 60?" and said the company wanted to promote younger employees.   2. New Hampshire schools will be receiving over $9.8 million in funding aimed toward school safety projects. The funding was approved by Gov. Chris Sununu and the Executive Council as part of the Security Action for Education (SAFE) grant. The funding is for 231 public and 18 non-public schools across the state, accounting for a total of 335 projects. (Subscription: New Hampshire Union Leader)
  3. A 73-year-old man from Litchfield was hit by a blue Volvo sedan on Tuesday in Manchester. The driver of the Volvo, a 29-year-old man from Manchester, hit the victim near Cahill and March avenues just before 3:00 p.m. The victim, who's identity has not been released, is recovering from serious injuries as of Wednesday afternoon.
