(unionleader.com) — Manchester aldermen are weighing a $2.5 million West Side skate park and other park lighting upgrades, with a final bond vote set for Dec. 16 that could reshape recreation options citywide. School officials also fielded student complaints about dirty, bug-infested bathrooms and ongoing cockroach treatments, while outgoing leaders floated raising aldermen stipends and detailed January’s inauguration plans for Mayor Jay Ruais. 
• Vigil Held For 24-Year Old Fatally Shot By Manchester Police (patch.com) — Family, friends, and neighbors gathered on South Mammoth Road in Manchester to remember 24-year-old Nickenley Turenne, who was fatally shot by Manchester police near Green Acres School. Loved ones shared memories, questioned the lack of information from investigators, and announced plans for a larger vigil next Saturday as the Attorney General’s Office continues its review.
• This Day in History: December 13, 1769, and 2013 (wcax.com) — Manchester gets a nod as the city that once held the single-day blood donation record before Rutland, Vermont surpassed it in 2013.
