- A shout out to Mike Apfelberg for organizing the Over the Edge fundraiser to raise funds to for local nonprofits. The CEO of the United Way of Greater Nashua never thought he would be rappelling down the side of the 20-story Brady Sullivan building, also known as "Hamphire Tower", when he organized the fundraiser event five years ago. On June 28 at around 9 a.m., Union Leader reporter Paul Feely, former U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, and 73 others will rappel down the 259-foot Hampshire Plaza building to help raise funds for local charities. You can read more about this story here: (Subscription/The Union Leader)
- Former Fisher Cat Gabriel Moreno made his major league debut for the Toronto Blue Jays
Saturday, June 11. On Saturday, the Blue Jays announced that 22-year-old catcher Gabriel Moreno is the "No. 1 Blue Jays prospect and No. 4 overall prospect,"said MLB.com. Moreno, who is from Barquisimeto, Venezuela, was signed less than six years ago. to the Manchester Fisher Cats. The Fisher Cats will be returning to Delta Dental Stadium for 13-games starting Tuesday, June 14–Sunday, June 26. Tickets to for the games can be purchase at NHFisherCats.com, and by email, by phone, or in-person at the Fisher Cats box office at 1 Line Drive in Manchester. (Manchester Ink Link) - Inflation may have risen to a 40-year high last month, due to nigher air fares, gas prices and lodging, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, but that sin't stopping people from going to Hampton Beach. In a report by WMUR's Hannah Cotter, Chuck Rage, the owner of the Pelham Resort Hotel and other Hampton Beach business, said their prices may have increased a little, but "people will still come to Hampton Beach."
