Here are the top stories in Manchester today:
- Record-breaking heat is expected on Monday, so be prepared to keep cool for The Memorial Day Parade and other outside activities. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 90. We haven't seen temperatures this high on Memorial Day weekend since 2011, said Stephen Baron, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, adding that the average temperature for this time of year is 72 degrees. - Are you headed to the beach on Memorial Day? The air may feel warm, with temperatures expected to be in the 80s on the Seacoast, but meteorologists say that water temperatures Monday are expected to be 54 degrees. Surfers who plan to be in the water at Hampton Beach should plan for cold water, and should wear "a good quality spring wetsuit and optionally a hood, neoprene gloves and boots," said Surf Forecast.com. - Did you know that there is currently a Red Tide ban on shellfish coming from the Atlantic Ocean in our area? High levels of neurotoxins that cause "Red tide," or paralytic shellfish poisoning, were found in blue mussels from the Hampton-Seabrook Harbor on Wednesday, according to the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services and New Hampshire Fish & GameSeacoast. Eating contaminated shellfish can be potentially fatal. State officials said they will continue to sample shellfish from the ocean and monitor the levels of toxins through October. (Patch)

- Flags Half-Staff: On Monday, May 30th, Governor Chris Sununu is directing all flags on public buildings and grounds in the State of New Hampshire to fly at half-staff, from sunrise to noon on May 30 in honor of Memorial Day. Note: The flag is currently at half-staff in remembrance of the victims of the horrific violence in Uvalde, Texas, until sunset, Saturday, May 28. (Governor Chris Sununu)
