Shades for Migraine is Looking for Community Leader Volunteers

The non-profit Association of Migraine Disorders (AMD) just opened enrollment into its annual Shades for Migraine Community Leader program.
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you want to help raise awareness for a disease that affects millions? If so, the Shades for Migraine (SFM) Community Leader program could be a great fit for you.
Each year, AMD looks for a diverse team of Community Leader volunteers from every corner of the globe to play a vital role in spreading migraine awareness during the Shades for Migraine Campaign.

What is Shades for Migraine?
Shades for Migraine is a global awareness campaign led by The Association of Migraine Disorders. The goal is to spread migraine awareness and education to reduce stigma. Every June (Migraine and Headache Awareness Month), SFM encourages people to show their support for people living with migraine disease by posting a picture wearing sunglasses on social media with the #ShadesForMigraine or tagging @shadesformigraine.
What do SFM Community Leaders Do?
Each year, SFM Community leaders encourage action and promote participation in Shades for Migraine Day on June 21st. Whether you’re a student, a professional, or a community advocate, the program offers the opportunity to use your voice to make a lasting impact.

The program runs from March through July and is fully remote. The Community Leader program is designed to be flexible and accommodating to your schedule and abilities. Whether you have a lot of time to give or just a little, you can contribute in a way that suits your comfort level. Your involvement can range from simple online tasks, like securing proclamations with local governments, to organizing your own fundraising and awareness events.
Who Can Become a SFM Community Leader?
If you’ve ever wanted to help people understand what it’s like to live with migraine, this is your chance. Shades for Migraine Community Leaders should have an interest and enthusiasm for teaching others about migraine and helping spread awareness. You should be willing to engage in conversations with new faces, bringing exceptional interpersonal skills to the table—social media experience is a bonus! Creativity, professionalism, and top-notch communication abilities are essential for effectively spreading the message and building connections.
