17-Year-Old Arrested for Aggravated OUIL

The following information was provided by Merrimack Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A 17-year-old was held in Valley Street Jail overnight when he refused bail after being arrested for driving under the influence.

Jake Bamford, 17, of Eve Street in Manchester was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, aggravated OUIL, OHRV-OUIL and aggravated OHRV-OUIL, when he was arrested on Belmont Drive in Merrimack early Friday morning.

According to police, Bamford backed into another vehicle and attempted to leav when he was departing the Belmont Drive home at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 23.

Police say after arresting Bamford, he refused the services of a bail commissioner and was held in Hillsborough County's correctional facility until his court hearing in Goffstown district court later that morning.

Also arrested during the incident was 17-year-old Jason White of Pearson Street in Litchfield on a possession of alcohol by a minor charge. He was released on $500 personal recognizance bail and scheduled to appear in Merrimack district court on July 24.

Two 15 year olds spotted  walking away from the home were placed in protective custody and released to a parent.
