A Manchester woman arrested in Merrimack on Thursday morning, charged in connection with stealing checks in Hollis and cashing them in Merrimack, is facing similar charges from October in Hollis.
Deborah Philbrick, 27, of 424 Walnut St., Manchester, was charged with two counts of forgery after she turned herself in to Merrimack Police on warrant on Dec. 5.
Police say they were contacted by Hollis Police on Oct. 29 regarding a woman who'd stolen checks in Hollis and had allegedly cashed two of them at Merrimack banks. Merrimack Police say a brief investigation showed two checks had been cashed by Philbrick at local banks and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Philbrick was also arrested by Hollis Police after she turned herself in there on Oct. 17. Hollis Police charged her with unauthorized taking, a class a felony, after police say she stole 13 checks from her aunt and cashed them, amounting to more than $5,000, according to a story on Nashua Patch.
Police said at the time that all the checks had all been cashed in neighboring communities and further charges could be forthcoming.
Philbrick was released from custody in Merrimack on $4,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear before the Merrimack 9th Circuit Court on Jan. 7.
