Car Crashes In Merrimack, Is Engulfed In Flames When Responders Arrive
The vehicle rolled multiple times on the Everett Turnpike on Saturday. One person was taken from the scene with life-threatening injuries.
MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack Police, Fire, and New Hampshire State Police responded to the Everett Turnpike for a report of a motor vehicle accident in the southbound lane at mile marker 14.2 on Saturday.
Additional reports came in that occupants were still in the car and it was on fire. Merrimack police arrived at the scene just after 9 pm and reported the vehicle was fully engulfed and one victim was on the ground. Fire and EMS quickly prepared the man for transport and activated a trauma alert at the Elliot Hospital for a man possibly in his forties.

The vehicle appears to have rolled over multiple times, struck a series of trees, and came to rest on its side about .20 miles from the first impact.

Firefighters searched the vehicle and the woods for any additional occupants. It was determined that there was only one person in the vehicle.
The turnpike was shut down in both directions for a short time and one lane reopened in each direction. State police took measurements and investigated the accident, and the vehicle was removed from the highway at about 10:45 p.m.

A man was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be serious and life-threatening injuries.
Sources have confirmed the driver was flown to a Boston hospital with burns and serious injuries.
The initial investigation shows only one vehicle involved in the accident, which appears to be a Nissan GT-R.
Several Good Samaritans stopped and gave medical attention to the victim.
Additional information is expected from the state police, and updated information will be published at that time.
