Head-On Crash On Continental Boulevard In Merrimack, Several Injured

Mutual aid ambulances from Nashua and Amherst were requested for treating victims. A trauma alert was activated for one of the victims.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack Fire Rescue and police responded to a report of a head-on collision on Continental Blvd near Bailey Court Friday at about 7 p.m.

While en route, responders were advised, multiple people were injured, and some were still trapped in the vehicles. Mutual aid ambulances were requested from Nashua Fire Rescue and Amherst Fire and an engine from Nashua Fire.

Arriving units found two cars heavily damaged with five injured people and shut down Continental Blvd while victims were treated. Several people were transported to area hospitals and a trauma alert was requested for Southern NH Medical Center.

Upon preliminary investigation, The Merrimack Police Department determined that a 2018 Jeep Compass was driving Eastbound and a 2010 Chrysler Minivan was traveling Westbound when it crossed over the center line and struck the Jeep head-on.

Chief Brian Levesque said all occupants of both vehicles were transported to various area hospitals some with serious bodily injuries.

Continental Bouelvard was closed for several hours while the Merrimack Police Accident Investigation Team processed the scene.
