Local Man Charged with Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest
Merrimack police say the man knocked over a street lamp and had to be physically restrained.
Merrimack police arrested a local man June 3 on charges of criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
Police said Herman Deyette, 53, of 21-A East Ridge Road, Merrimack, was processed and refused bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned June 4.
Police and fire personnel responded to 27 East Ridge Road for a report of a man who had fallen at around 4:40 p.m. June 3. Upon arrival, they made contact with Deyette, and witnesses said Deyette had knocked over a street lamp.
Deyette had to be physically restrained and he was then arrested, police said.
He was taken to the Valley Street Jail ahead of his arraignment.
