Man Charged with Assaulting Woman, Stealing SIM Card

A man was arrested on Valentine's Day and charged with assaulting a woman and then stealing the SIM card from her phone.

Joshua Danforth, 28, no address given is charged with theft by unauthorized taking, domestic/simple assault and domestic/false imprisonment. Bail was set at $3,000 cash and he was transported to Hillsborough County Superior Court. He is scheduled to appear in 9th Circuit Court in Merrimack on Tuesday.

According to Merrimack Police, around 8:08 p.m. on Feb. 14, they responded to a local apartment complex after a neighbor reportedly heard a woman screaming from the apartment next door.

Upon arrival, police found the apartment in disarray and spoke with a family member who reported they were assaulted and then held down by Danforth. It was also reported that while being held down, Danforth took the person's phone and stole the SIM card from it.
