Man Who Crashed SUV After Fleeing From Bedford, Merrimack Cops Wanted On Charges

Travis Deluca and a dog were rescued after a crash into the Souhegan River. Deluca is wanted for animal cruelty, DUI, and reckless conduct.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police have issued warrants for Travis Deluca, 32, who faces multiple charges after a pursuit and crash that ended in Merrimack in July.

Bedford police attempted to stop Deluca on South River Road and he fled in a vehicle southerly into Merrimack, according to a report. Merrimack police were notified and immediately after, Deluca passed the Merrimack cruiser he lost control, police said.

The SUV Deluca was driving crashed through a guardrail in front of the Merrimack Fire Department and launched into the river. The Toyota Rav4 finally stopped after crashing into trees in the river.

A dog and Deluca were extricated from the car after an extended rescue operation, and a DHART helicopter landed in a nearby field to transport Deluca to the Elliot Hospital with serious injuries.

Deluca is wanted on numerous charges; reckless conduct-deadly weapon, DUI aggravated collision with serious bodily injury, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, and cruelty to animals, according to Merrimack Police.

A booking photo from a 2018 arrest was released and police are asking for help from the public in locating him.
