Merrimack Cops Investigating Multi-Car, Motorcycle Crash On Wire Road
A Bedford motorcyclist sustained severe injuries after a crash near Bedford Road; driver inattention appears to be a factor, police say.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon.
Around 2:45 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were sent to a report of a rollover crash involving three vehicles and a motorcycle. The crash was reported near the intersection of Bedford Road and Wire Road. When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist, Mark McAllister, 53, of Bedford, “on the ground with what appeared to be serious injuries,” Sgt. Brandon Gagnon of the Merrimack Police Department said.
McAllister was taken to Elliott Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other vehicles, a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe and a 2017 Toyota Tacoma, were heavily damaged. Those drivers were checked and refused medical attention.
“(The) preliminary investigation determined that all three vehicles were traveling north on Wire Road near the intersection of Bedford Road,” Gagnon said. “The Hyundai Santa Fe, operated by Paul Repp of Merrimack, approached the intersection without slowing or stopping and struck the motorcycle. After striking the motorcycle, the Santa Fe then struck a Toyota Tacoma, which appeared to be in the middle of a turn, causing it to roll over. Driver inattention appears to be a factor.”

The Tacoma was being driven by Matthew Cummings, 67, of Merrimack.
Officers and the accident investigation team were at the scene and the road was closed for several hours. Gagnon said it has since reopened.
“All aspects of this incident are currently under investigation, and charges may be forthcoming,” he said.
