MERRIMACK, NH —Shannon Parr says she is extremely proud and grateful to be named as the eighth top student among Merrimack High School's 2019 graduates. Having already gained skills and knowledge for a licensed nursing assistant certification, she plans to study nursing at Saint Anselm College next year. "I look forward to the next chapter in my life as well as watching class of 2019 do great things," she said.

In her four years of high school, Parr has participated in the National Honor Society, varsity cheerleading, and the Health Occupations Students of America club. She has also volunteered at her church and worked at Market Basket.

For the past two years, Parr has been enrolled at the Nashua South High School's health science program in the mornings. There, she has completed clinical hours, practiced skills and learned textbook knowledge to receive her licensed nursing assistant certification this May. This class, she said, gave her the basic skills necessary to enter the nursing school at Saint Anselm College.
