Merrimack Man Accused Of Hair-Grab Assault
Merrimack police said James Close was charged with assault, domestic violence-related.

MERRIMACK, NH -- A Merrimack man was arrested this week after police said he grabbed an individual by the hair and threw the individual on a bed. James Close (pictured), 47, was charged with two counts of assault, domestic violence-related and obstructing government administration. He was arrested Wednesday.
Police said the alleged assault happened January 25.
"According to the victim ... Close allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair and threw (the victim) down on the bed," Merrimack Police Sergeant Christopher Spillane said in a statement. "It is also alleged that Close destroyed evidence pertaining to the assault."

Close was released on bond pending an arraignment in Merrimack District Court.
