BERLIN, NH – A 51-year-old Merrimack man sustained injuries Friday evening following an off-highway recreational vehicle (OHRV) rollover on a steep and slippery section of the Bobo Crow Trail in Berlin.

According to New Hampshire Fish and Game, the incident occurred at approximately 7:31 p.m. Friday.

Jay Sebastian was descending the rugged trail when his OHRV rolled onto its left side. Authorities say Sebastian tried to brace the fall and suffered a puncture wound during the impact.

Sebastian was located on the trail, treated with first aid, and transported out of the woods to a staging area on Route 110. After meeting with friends in a nearby parking lot, he then opted to drive himself to Androscoggin Valley Hospital for further medical evaluation.

Officials believe that challenging terrain, wet and rocky conditions, and inattention to the trail were likely contributing factors to the crash. Sebastian was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

An investigation remains ongoing.
