Person Seriously Injured When Car Collides With Tractor-Trailer Truck In Merrimack

Merrimack firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the victim after she was trapped in the Executive Drive accident.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack Fire Rescue and police responded to a report of an accident with injury on Executive Park Drive near the southbound on-ramp to the Everett Turnpike Thursday.

Responders arrived at about 9 p.m. to a heavily damaged vehicle with one person entrapped and the vehicle against the wood line. Firefighters used cutting and spreading tools to remove the driver-side doors and gain access to the patient. Crews also cut brush from the passenger side of the car to gain additional access to the patient.

Crews worked for more than 20 minutes to free the woman from the vehicle and then transported her to an area hospital. She was suffering from what appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The initial investigation appears to indicate the car was traveling south on Executive Park Drive and crossed into the northbound side of the road. The vehicle struck the side of a tractor-trailer, a signpost, and came to rest near the wood line. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.

Merrimack police are investigating the accident, and at this time, there is no other information available.
