Police: Driver Purposely Struck Car

Merrimack police arrested a local man May 30 on a reckless driving charge alleging he purposely struck another car on Daniel Webster Highway a week earlier.

James H Sakelaris, 25, of 11 Cobblestone Drive, Merrimack, was also charged with stalking, according to the Merrimack Police Department. He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and has a June 19 court date to answer to the charges.

Police said the charges stemmed from a minor car accident reported on Daniel Webster Highway on May 24.

Officers investigating said they learned Sakelaris used to work with the driver of the other vehicle, and it's alleged that he struck that driver's vehicle on purpose.
