1. Infestation. A bug called the emerald ash borer beetle has caused an emergency quarantine after being found in Merrimack County. Hardwood firewood cannot leave the county without government approval in order to protect the state's ash trees.
2. Hurray for earth! Please come help celebrate Earth Day with Brownie Troop 10050! The celebration will take place on Saturday April 13 at Jacques Memorial Elementary School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $4 per child, and you can RSVP to Troop10050@gmail.com. This event is open to all Girl Scouts, come as a troop or come with your parents. Learn about our Water, Local Farming, Farm to Table cooking, Stonyfield Yogurt, Recycling, Gardening and our local Hiking Trails. Each Girl that RSVP's will receive a fun Earth Day Patch. Our Exhibits Will help you work towards some of your Journeys as well. In addition there will be crafts, face painting, games and more.
