Milford School Board, Teachers Union Fail To Reach Agreement
Despite mediation and eight meetings, the Milford School Board and Milford Teachers' Association do not have a contract for July 2023.
MILFORD, NH — Despite meetings and mediation, members of the Milford school board and the district’s teachers union have reached an impasse for a renewed contract for the 2022-2023 school year.
Christi Michaud, the superintendent for the district, announced the impasse last week and noted it came after many meetings.
“The board met with the union on eight instances — including a day-long mediation session and bargained in good faith throughout,” she said.

Michaud said board members felt they had proposed a “mutually beneficial” deal that recognized “both student needs and taxpayer impact.”
Although unable to reach an agreement, the board will continue to fulfill its obligation, as stated in the district’s vision and mission statement, Michaud said.
