MILFORD, NH — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Colleen Johnson, who nominated Bailey, a senior, of Milford.

How do you know the star local student?

My daughter

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

My daughter, Bailey, is an exceptional young lady. She not only is on the high honor roll in school, she plays three varsity sports and is a captain on all three!

She lives in a four generational home with her mom, older sister, 18-month-old nephew, and elderly grandparents! Her grandparents moved in last year, so her mother could care for them!

Bailey helps out with her nephew, as well as helping out with her grandparents when needed! She does this all with a smile on her face. She also works at Market Basket! She will be attending the University of New Hampshire in the fall in the health science department! I am proud to call her my daughter!

Bailey will definitely make a difference in this world!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She is a hard worker, positive, and treats everyone she knows with the utmost respect!

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Bailey!
