5. Bill Gates Building a Better Condom: The Gates Foundation, owned by  Bill Gates, announced a competition in March to build the next generation of condoms. Gates encouraged entrepreneurs to create a condom that “significantly preserves or enhances pleasure, in order to improve uptake and regular use.”
They got 872 entries. Winners were announced Thursday. You can look forward to a more sensational condom soon, we hear.
