2. Parent Outreach Group Oct. 3: Nashua School District and the Nashua 
Parent Outreach Group (NPOG) announce that they are collaborating to 
present their first event of the school year. Join them for "What's Out There?"  A Community Resource Workshop: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013  at NHS South Media Center, 36 Riverside Drive. Read more here.

3. Household Waste Recycling: City of Nashua Household Hazardous Waste Collection Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Garage, near Nashua High School South.  Nashua residents are welcome to drop off acceptable wastes such as oil-based paints, varnish, wood preservatives, thinners, pesticides, pool chemicals, and antifreeze.  Residents from Amherst, Brookline, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Pelham, and Windham are welcome too.  If you have any questions, please contact Sally Hyland of the Solid Waste Department at (603) 589-3410.

4. Book Fair to Support Amherst Street School: Come out Oct. 3 and support Amherst Street school in the first of the district's scheduled book fairs to be held at Barnes & Noble on Daniel Webster Highway off Exit 1. Details here.

5. Happy Birthday, Charlie Brown: On this day in 1950 Charles M. Schulz first published his timeless Peanuts comic strip, featuring Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, and our main man, Charlie Brown.
