5 Things: Fruit as Rx, Another SNL Departure, Dolphin Talk, Paint the Town

1. Nature's Remedy: Here's one that seems like it should be filed under "no duh:" A four-month trial Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program (FVRx) is being launched in which prescriptions will double as coupons for fresh produce.
Patients can take their "health bucks" to a number of farmers markets throughout their city and trade them in for vegetables or fruit.  A Connecticut-based nonprofit organization called Wholesome Wave designed the program specifically to help underprivileged overweight and obese children who are at risk of developing diet-related diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Read more here.

2. Another SNL Regular Goes Rogue: It's "peace out" for SNL cast member Jason Sudeikis, who confirmed he's leaving the cast after 10 seasons, including two as a writer. He confirmed the news during a taping of CBS' Late Show With David Letterman. You can read more here on USA Today.

3. Who You Callin' Flipper? A new study suggests that dolphins call one another by name, and answer one another. In an article published July 24 in the “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences” it's proposed that dolphin whistles are used to distinguish one dolphin from another, and that the dolphins identify themselves by the sound of their own chirp. 4. When Harry Met Pippa: We're calling it – the royal god parents will likely be Prince Harry and Duchess-in-Law Pippa Middleton, who will make fetching mentors for His Royal Highness George Alexander Louis, named for his great--great-grandfather George VI, born July 22. Jolly good show.

5. Paint the Town: Fody's Tavern, 9 Clinton St., in Nashua, joins the late-night paint social craze. Check it out Thursday night at 7 p.m. Cost is $45. More here.
