5 Things: Jeepers Creepers, Hurry Up, Leaf Peepers

News meant to enlighten, inform and entertain.

1. Public Hearing Tonight on NHDOT 10-Year Plan: Sure, it sounds a little dry. But if you can imagine what Nashua – and NH – may look like in 2024, then you should come out to this NRPC event and participate. This is a public meeting, which means it's your chance to connect with the decision makers and be heard. Starts 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 229 Main Street.

2. Free Starbucks for the Generous of Spirit: Thank a dysfunctional government for your free coffee today. This "pay-it-forward" promotion at Starbucks, inspired by all the unrest in Washington, D.C. in an effort to bring everyone together over a cup of coffee, expires Friday, so go get some free coffee and make someone's day.

3. Seems like a New Apple a Day: Yet another big reveal, this one set for Oct. 22 when Apple will unveil its new iPad and the OS X Maverick. Of course, it's also the same day Nokia will hold its World Event in Abu Dhabi to show off new Lumia phones. Oh, and the same day Microsoft's Surface 2 tablets go on sale.

4. Halloween in Nashua: We posted this story Oct. 9 on Halloween happenings in Nashua, but have since removed one of the events and added a new one. Check it out and get ready for some Halloween good times.

5. Last Call for Leaf Peepers: The trees are on fire out there, as leaf peeping season is coming to an end. You can check the official State of NH Leaf Peeping  app online at visitnh.gov but you don't have to be a genius to know that cooler weather and windy days will soon do a number on our fantastic foliage. Take a drive.
