Academy for Science and Design Students Recognized by the National Merit® Scholarship Program

One student named a semi-finalist, and five students receive Letters of Commendation

Nashua, NH — The Academy for Science and Design (ASD) is proud to announce that senior Matthias O. has been named a Semifinalist in the 2026 National Merit® Scholarship Program. This honor places him among the nation’s top academically talented high school seniors.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) recently recognized more than 16,000 Semifinalists nationwide in its 71st annual scholarship program. These students have the opportunity to continue in the competition for nearly 6,930 National Merit Scholarships worth almost $26 million, to be awarded next spring.

ASD is also pleased to acknowledge the achievements of seniors Alton C., Anna F., Ved M., and Kristina R., each of whom earned a Letter of Commendation for their outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT®.

“We’re thrilled to see Matthias recognized as a Semifinalist and to celebrate the accomplishments of Alton, Anna, Ved, and Kristina as well,” said School Director Jenn Cava. “It is certainly something these dedicated students should be proud of.”

National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced beginning in April 2026 and continuing through July.
