Plane Crashes Into Nashua Neighborhood, Hitting Trees And A House
Bystanders extricated the pilot of the plane, and he was rushed to a local hospital. The plane crashed into the Cannongate Road area.
NASHUA, NH — A plane crashed into a Nashua neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, and the pilot was seriously injured.
Nashua Fire Rescue, police, and AMR ambulance were dispatched to the area of Market Basket on Amherst Street at 2:15 p.m. for a report of a plane crash. Responders were redirected to the area of Cannongate Road, a large residential area about a half a mile from the original reported location.
Fire and police arrived and found the pilot had been extricated by bystanders who witnessed the crash. The pilot was transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center by AMR ambulance, according to NFR Chief Steve Buxton.

The tops of several trees appeared sheared off by the plane before it struck the roof of a residence and fell to the ground, striking a jeep parked nearby.
Firefighters stretched hose lines as a precaution and then investigated smoke coming from the attic. Firefighters requested Eversource to the scene due to possible damage to the power line going to the building, and power was disconnected.

Several police officers put up crime scene tape around a large debris field and stationed officers to keep people out of the area, where parts were scattered over a significant area.
Chief Buxton said the FAA and NTSB were en route to the scene. The investigation will take a significant amount of time, and the area will have limited access for an extended time.
At this time, the exact injuries to the pilot have not been released; however, they appear to be serious, but he is expected to survive.
The pilot was conscious, breathing, and alert when he was transported by AMR ambulance.
No one was home at the damaged residence, and no injuries were reported in the area.
The plane, according to flight records, was owned by Team Flyer LLC and was doing touch-and-go landings at Boire Field, commonly referred to as the Nashua airport.
According to the information on the plane's tail number, it is a Velocity V-Twin.
It is a unique, high-performance experimental aircraft known for its "canard" design (where the small wing is at the front and the main wing is at the rear). Unlike most Velocity models, which are single-engine, the V-Twin is a multi-engine aircraft.
