Alex Preston Voted Off American Idol

Alex Preston was voted off American Idol on May 15, and he just sang "Damsel in distress" one final time on the FOX stage.

Preston, shortly after the show ended Thursday night, Tweeted to his 67,000 followers on Twitter: "I cannot thank you all enough. I love you. This is the beginning."

The Mont Vernon native and Souhegan High graduate made New Hampshire proud with his musical talents.

Preston won his way into the Top 3 in the show's 13th season with masterful performances and range. He showed off his expertise during his "hometown" visit to New Hampshire last weekend, including a concert at the University of New Hampshire.

Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson will compete next week to be the next American Idol.
