Nashua Head-On Crash Leaves One Dead, Others Injured
Eastbound travel will be closed near 427 Amherst St. for several hours as the accident is investigated; one person died at the scene.
NASHUA, NH — Nashua Fire Rescue, AMR Ambulance, and Nashua Police responded to a head-on collision on Amherst Street Saturday.
The accident occurred near 427 Amherst St. around 2:45 p.m. While units were responding, they were advised there was possible entrapment, one vehicle was on fire, and CPR was in progress on the occupants of one of the vehicles. An additional ambulance was summoned to the scene, and a trauma alert was activated at Southern New Hampshire Medical for a man possibly in his forties.
An unknown number of people were transported from the scene, but one person was confirmed dead at the scene. It does not appear there was any fire in either vehicle.

Amherst Street eastbound is closed and is expected to be closed for several hours while the accident is investigated. Traffic is moving slowly in the westbound travel lane and is backed up for more than one mile.
At this time, it is unknown the cause of the accident. However, visual information at the scene indicated a white passenger vehicle was traveling westerly in the eastbound lane when it struck the yellow Jeep head-on.
