1. Dec. 21: Celebrate World Meditation Day at Arlington Street Center (inklink.news) — Nashua residents are invited to a World Meditation Day gathering this Sunday, Dec. 21, at 11:30 a.m. at the Arlington Street Community Center. Hosted with the Heartfulness Institute, the free event coincides with a global online meditation aiming to bring millions together in a shared moment of peace.
   

2. Fire department and city present plans for new Station 5 fire station (inklink.news) — Nashua officials are advancing plans for a much larger, modern Station 5 to improve fire response north of the Nashua River and west of the highway. The proposed 24,000-square-foot station at Pine Hill Road and Charron Avenue would address safety, contamination, and space issues for firefighters, with a feasibility study headed to the Board of Fire Commissioners in January and potential bond review by aldermen in spring 2026.
   

3. Rivier to hold RISE Spring semester information session (unionleader.com) — Nashua seniors interested in lifelong learning can attend Rivier University’s RISE Spring 2026 information session on Friday, Jan. 9, from 1–3 p.m. at the Dion Center on Clement Street. Attendees can meet course facilitators, enjoy refreshments, learn about no-pressure classes for ages 55 and over, and get details on registration running Jan. 12–23 for two five-week terms starting Feb. 9.
   

4. Blotter: City man charged in connection with burglary at local convenience store (inklink.news) — Nashua police have charged a 26-year-old city resident in connection with an August burglary at Bella Variety on Chestnut Street. Investigators say surveillance video and the suspect’s own admissions led to a felony burglary warrant, with arraignment scheduled at Nashua District Court in January and police still seeking any additional information from the public.
   

5. Carolyn M. (Sullivan) Marineau (nashuatelegraph.com) — Nashua is mourning longtime resident and retired public school teacher Carolyn M. (Sullivan) Marineau, who passed away on December 11 at age 88. She taught in Nashua schools, supported Nashua Actorsingers and VFW Post 483, and will be honored at a January 8 service at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
