Boys & Girls Club Welcomes New Board Members, Officers

At its recent Annual Business Meeting, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua welcomed new board members and officers, recognized years of service, and presented awards. 

Officers elected for a one-year term are Thanasi C. Liakos of Liakos Real Estate, (Chief Volunteer Officer/“President”);  Deborah Novotny of Peoples United Bank and David Heath of Melanson Heath & Co. (Vice Presidents); Lori Liberty of Melanson Heath & Co. (Treasurer); and Sal Magnano, a retired Sanders finance executive (Secretary). 

The Club also welcomed newly elected board members, nominated from the community because of their dedication to the Club’s mission and willingness to champion for our youth.  The Club’s newly elected board members include Hector Araniz, Partner, Mass Mutual; Brian Hubert, Account Executive, UPS, and Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua alumni; Chris Marcucci, Financial Advisor, Edward Jones; Michael McIntosh, Sr. Biopharmaceutical Sales Representative, Amgen; Cliff Spinney, Jr., Wealth Advisor, Merrill Lynch, and Caryl Sullivan, Preferred & Premier Partner Development Specialist, Social Media and Community Professional, Dell.

Several board members and staff were recognized for their years of service to the Club and our members including board members Carolyn Choate, Garry Clarke-Pounder and Deborah Novotny for five years of board service; Teresa Gartner for ten years of service; Foundation Trustees, James Conway and Martha O’Neill for 15 years of service; Foundation Chair, David Brassard and Trustee Fred Roedel were recognized for 20 years of service; and Trustee and Club Board member, Sal Magnano achieved 30 years.  Staff members, Gerry Gambucci, Laura Robinson, Joshua Welper and Jessica York were recognized for 5 years of service, and Alyssa April Cotreau for 10 years. 

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua serves over 3,300 boys and girls ages 6 – 18 throughout greater Nashua with a variety of programs and wholesome activities to build attitudes, skills, values and behaviors that enable youth to succeed in adulthood.  The Club is staffed with professional, caring adults and is open to all children.  Membership is $35 a year and no child is turned away for inability to pay.
