
Roland A. Monson, 66 of Hudson, NH died unexpectedly on Saturday June 15, 2013 at the Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua.
He was born February 24, 1947 in Caribou, ME, son of the late Albert and Frieda (Maynard) Monson.
Roland was the husband of Sandy (Black) Sullivan of Hudson.
Mr. Monson was a U.S. Army Veteran who served his country honorably in Vietnam and received a Bronze Star Medal. He was an engineer for over 40 years and retired from Lockheed Martin in 2007. Roland enjoyed woodworking, gardening, photography, traveling and loved the outdoors. He will be remembered for his clever nature and for always telling a good joke.
Besides his loving wife Sandy, survivors include a son, Derek Monson and his wife Jessica of Windham, a daughter Megan Armstrong and her husband Richard of Windham, four grandchildren; Jack Armstrong, Paul Armstrong, Avery Monson, and Adrienne Monson all of Windham, two brothers, Rellan Monson and his wife Susan of Chatam, MA, Roger Monson and his wife Each of Anchorage, AK, a sister Ruth Hall of Homer, AK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Friday June 21st from 1pm-3pm in THE DUMONT-SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME, 50 FERRY ST. IN HUDSON. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3pm in the funeral home.
