'Bear' Sighting At Shell Nashua Shell Station Protest

Bear Cothran was greeted by upwards of 75 people who attended a peaceful protest in his honor.

Shannon 'Bear' Cothran got a hero's welcome when he returned Saturday to the scene of the crime that cost him his job earlier this week. <See video>

On Oct. 14 Cothran was working the late shift at the Main Street Shell station when a would-be robber entered the store, demanding cash and threatening to kill Cothran.

So Cothran pulled out his handgun and thwarted the robber, who fled the store empty handed.

Hours later Colthran got word that he was fired by Nouria Energy Corp., for violating the company's "no weapons" policy.

On Saturday Colthran made an appearance at the Shell station at a peaceful protest staged in his honor by friend Kevin Boyle, and attended by upwards of 75 supporters on the corner of Main and Lake streets, outside the Shell station.
