Beloved Nashua Dad 'Is My Rock,' Daughter Says

NASHUA, NH— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Nashua, meet Thomas J. Troville.

If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Tammy O'Brien who nominated Thomas J. Troville of Nashua.

What makes your dad extra special?

Well, Im 50 years old, and my dad is 73. He is my hero. He has prostate cancer and aggressive bladder cancer. My dad goes to work every day— he raised his family, but for the last ten years, he has been raising his granddaughter. She is what he lives for now ... my dad is father of the year in my book —he is my rock, even though he says I'm his rock.

Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?

My dad needs to be recognized because for 73, he still works full-time and raises his granddaughter for the last 10 years and [he's] fighting two types of cancer, one being aggressive.
