Aldermen Uphold Veto of Police Supervisors' Retro Sick Pay

The mayor felt it was not a fair deal to the city's other 1,600 union employees, who didn't get the same contractual option.

On Tuesday night the Nashua Board of Aldermen voted 8 to 7 to uphold a veto by Mayor Donnalee Lozeau affecting the Police Supervisors' collective bargaining agreement.

Voting to uphold the veto were: Aldermen Richard Dowd, MaryAnn Melizzi-Golja, Paul Chasse, Dan Moriarty, Mike Tabacsko, Kathy Vitale, Art Craffey and Brian McCarthy. 

Voting to override the veto were: Aldermen Lori Wilshire, June Caron, Jim Donchess, Diane Sheehan, David Deane, Mark Cookson and Barbara Pressly.

A large contingency from the police department were seated together in the back of the Aldermanic Chambers awaiting the vote, and left together immediately following the vote.
